The Aqara Hub M3 is a inexpensive hub to power all the Aqara devices in your smart home. From our initial investigation, it appears they have a nice ecosystem of devices available, and offer a compelling value proposition.
If you are able to set up advanced network security on the network you are going to connect it to (isolated, unable to communicate with the internet), then this could be an excellent option with great device choices. However, Aqara is owned by a Chinese company and if you are not able to isolate this device we cannot recommend using the Aqara ecosystem.
As other users discussed in this Reddit post, there could be ways to solve for this, however for most users it will be too complicated to set up the correct security. For this reason, we have not fully reviewed the Aqara ecosystem of devices fully, but may at a later date.
