eufy Security came out with one of the least expensive Matter supported smart locks available, the eufy Security Smart Lock C34. As of this writing, it is available on Amazon for $79, down from a list price of $139.
This device has a unique value proposition: it supports both Wi-Fi and Matter Over Thread connectivity options. With both of these options available, it is a very inexpensive option during this transition period from Z-Wave to Matter devices.
As always, we don’t recommend you use fingerprint entry, so we are only looking at the C34 model for this review. The C34 just has a touchscreen keypad and a backup physical key.
One thing to note, this lock is designed and manufactured in China. This could introduce potential security vulnerabilities to your setup which you will need to evaluate at your own risk.

With an inexpensive price tag, the eufy Security Smart Lock C34 is a very interesting option for short-term rentals in 2025. We did not test this device in a real-world scenario over an extended amount of time, but our initial impressions of the device are good. The biggest caution we have for anyone considering purchasing this device is the country of origin is China. Connecting this device via Wi-Fi can introduce a potential security vulnerability to your network.
