ThirdReality Zigbee Water Leak Sensor

The ThirdReality Zigbee Water Leak Sensor with Dripping Detection is a practical, budget-friendly leak detection solution. It’s compact and powered by two AAA batteries, and it includes a built-in audible alert to notify you immediately when water is detected. The sensor’s simple design and Zigbee connectivity make it easy to place anywhere water is a concern — under sinks, near water heaters, or in laundry rooms — and it reliably reports wet/dry status to your hub so you can trigger automations or alerts. Setup and pairing are straightforward with compatible Zigbee networks, and the AAA battery choice means fewer replacements.

On the flip side, some setups may see the sensor recognized generically rather than as a leak device, and placement matters — making sure the contact tabs touch surfaces helps improve sensitivity. Also, the design to have the sensor internals only accessible when removing the three screws – which also act as the moisture sensors – is undesirable. And finally, it comes with “High Sensitivity/Dripping Detect Attachments” which are extra leak sensor components. These two extra metal pieces are not easy to install and make changing the batteries even more difficult.

Overall it is an inexpensive option, however we really hope they improve the physical design (make the batteries & silence button accessible without removing screws) in future models. In the meantime, you may want to consider another leak sensor option.
